The corporate office is where a hospitality group actually runs: finance, operations, HR and the people supporting every property. It is also where the email, the files and the systems worth attacking tend to live.

By the time NetraClouds was brought in, the problems were frequent enough to be affecting the working day. Spam was arriving in volume, staff machines were picking up infections, and the computers themselves had been bought at different times to no particular standard.

The Challenge

Spam arriving in volume. Staff were sorting through junk to find real mail, which is both a waste of time and the conditions in which a genuine phishing message eventually gets clicked.
Infected endpoints. Machines were picking up malware, and there was no central way to see which devices were affected or whether a clean up had actually worked.
A mixed device estate. Computers had been bought piecemeal, including consumer editions of Windows that cannot be centrally managed, encrypted with BitLocker, or brought under policy.
An unprotected perimeter. The network had no meaningful inspection of what was entering or leaving it.
No single view. Email, endpoints and the network were separate problems handled separately, so nothing was ever addressed as a whole.

What NetraClouds Delivered

We rebuilt the corporate office security posture around a single Fortinet platform, so the network, email and endpoints work together rather than as three unrelated products.

Fortinet network security. A properly configured firewall inspecting traffic in both directions, with rules written for how the business actually operates rather than left at defaults.
Email security. Filtering placed ahead of the mailbox so junk and malicious mail are removed before staff ever see them.
Endpoint protection. Every machine brought under central protection and monitoring, so an infection is visible and containable rather than discovered by the person using the computer.
Windows Professional across the estate. Every endpoint standardised onto Windows Professional, which is what makes central management, disk encryption and policy enforcement possible in the first place.
One platform to manage. Bringing these under a single vendor stack means the layers share intelligence and there is one place to look when something happens.

Why Windows Professional Mattered

Standardising the Windows edition sounds like housekeeping, but it is the step that makes everything else enforceable:

Central management. Consumer editions cannot be joined to a domain or managed centrally, so every setting depends on the person at the keyboard.
Disk encryption. BitLocker is available on Professional, which matters the day a laptop is lost.
Policy enforcement. Update behaviour, local administrator rights and security settings can be applied consistently instead of machine by machine.
A predictable estate. When every device is built the same way, support is faster and there are fewer places for a problem to hide.

The Outcome

Spam volumes fell significantly. Staff mailboxes carry business mail again rather than a daily sorting exercise.
Endpoints came back clean. The estate was cleared of the infections it was carrying, and is now monitored so a new one is caught rather than accumulated.
Every device on Windows Professional. The whole estate can be managed, encrypted and kept to one standard.
A defended perimeter. Traffic entering and leaving the network is inspected rather than trusted.
One security platform. Network, email and endpoint protection working as a set, with one supplier accountable for it.
